Vernon: From a Norman surname, which was from a French place name, ultimately derived from the Gaulish word vern meaning "alder".
- Married Petunia Evans
- First to speak: "Little tyke." he chortled.
- Director of firm called Grunnings, which made drills.
- Big, beefy man with hardly any neck, although he did have a very large mustache.
- Goes to work at 8:30am, wearing his most boring tie, with a briefcase. Leaves work at 5pm.
