- She is infatuated with him, and he wants nothing to do with anyone, let alone someone 13ish years younger than him.
- He constantly is speaking against it, yet Dora gets Molly and others to pressure Remus into giving in against his will.
- It's not just that he's a werewolf and a danger, he feels she's too young.
- He also lacks self-confidence, thinking himself too poor. But that's the least important reason.
- People keep telling me that he wants her, but no one can show evidence in the book that he does. It's only just the desire for a romantic story. But it's not there.
- There's no evidence he has affection for her beyond friendship or colleague.
- That is, until Teddy is born....
- Once Remus has a son, he falls in love with his child, as any parent can't help.
- And at that point, Remus decides to love Dora. He acts the part, but I don't know if he really feels anything properly for her, other than the connection of Teddy.
- Though, of course, the act of sex and sharing a bed can increase the connection, perhaps that was enough for him to develop feelings.
- But I still am glad their "til death do us part" came quickly.
As much as I love both characters on their own, and would have been fine with it if there had been anything written that showed Remus actually Loved Dora before Teddy was born. But there wasn't, and he was constantly trying to get out of it. I'm sad they died, but I think death is better than a forced relationship.
